With one week left of the window, Leeds United continue to explore additions, with Marseille split over Igor Paixao and a rival target’s valuation shifting.
According to Leeds Live, Paixao is not a serious target at present, though he has not been ruled out, and there is no advanced interest unless a cut-price deal emerges. Leeds Live adds that Pavel Sulc has been on the radar but not a priority, and his price has moved from £21m to £35m as Juventus contact Lyon, with Everton, Aston Villa and Wrexham also in the frame for the 25-year-old, who is under contract until 2029.
Speaking before the Carabao Cup tie with Nottingham Forest, Daniel Farke declined to engage with talk around Mykhailo Mudryk or wider rumours, while conceding further incomings could happen. He stressed spending must be responsible and said he is content with the business to date given limited resources.
Leeds opened the season with three points and three debutants in Tarik Muharemovic, Harry Wilson and James Trafford. There could still be room for more before the deadline.
In France, head coach Bruno Genesio refuses to consider Paixao’s exit. Financial pressure at Marseille this summer has fuelled concern the player could be sold below value.
