Daniel Farke’s side have seven matches to protect their Premier League status, sitting on 33 points from 31, four above the drop. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, a strongest starting XI has been mapped out to spark goals and help secure survival.
Leeds have failed to score in their last four league games. An incorrect dismissal and a missed penalty call have not helped, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s goals have dipped. That could change after the break with Noah Okafor and Gabriel Gudmundsson returning.
In goal, Karl Darlow has steadied things since replacing Lucas Perri, making vital saves. He is more comfortable on the ball and appears to calm those in front of him.
Joe Rodon has logged more Premier League minutes than any teammate and should continue to do so into May. His athleticism is key, whether covering in behind or stepping into the hybrid right-back role used recently.
Jaka Bijol relishes the battle and is Leeds’ most reliable box defender, having muted several top-flight forwards. He also offers a major set-piece threat.
Pascal Struijk can defend on the front foot with two alongside, which suits him. As the only left-footed centre-back, he is central to building from the back.
At right wing-back, Jayden Bogle provides the attacking width Leeds need right now despite James Justin’s strong season. He is comfortable pushing high on the right when Rodon shuffles wide.
