Leeds United midfielder Ilia Gruev is back from a meniscus knee injury and resumes senior action.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the Bulgarian international, 26, suffered the setback in late April, which ended his season, though he had been expected to be ready for pre-season.

He was named in the travelling squad for United’s pre-season tour of America but did not feature, and earlier this month Daniel Farke said he still needed a little more time before being considered for selection.

Gruev then gained minutes with United’s under-21s ahead of the international break and made the bench for the home match against Crystal Palace, where he was an unused substitute.

He has now been restored to the starting line-up for Bulgaria’s Nations League home meeting with Luxembourg on Saturday, kick-off five pm, marking his first senior appearance in three months.
