According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Opta’s supercomputer has issued its final Premier League table projections before Leeds United visit relegation-battling West Ham.
Leeds are already safe, their survival sealed with three games left after Arsenal’s 1-0 win at West Ham, who must beat Sunday’s visitors and hope Tottenham lose at home to Everton.
Given West Ham’s poor goal difference, only two permutations would keep the third-bottom Irons up.
Despite a stack of injuries, Leeds are eight unbeaten in the league and could still finish as high as 11th.
They sit 14th, two points behind Newcastle United, Everton and Fulham in 11th, 12th and 13th, and two ahead of Crystal Palace in 15th.
On the final day, Fulham host Newcastle, Palace face newly crowned champions Arsenal, and Everton travel to fourth-bottom Tottenham, for whom a point would realistically secure safety.
A win at West Ham would leave Leeds on 50 points. Opta’s model has Arsenal first on 84 points, Manchester City second on 80, Manchester United third on 69, Aston Villa fourth on 63, Liverpool fifth on 61 and Bournemouth sixth on 58.
