Leeds United have reshaped their projected strongest XI and bench after completing their first summer signing, free agent Harry Wilson.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the Welsh winger joined on Wednesday after his Fulham contract expired. Leeds had tried to land him on deadline day last summer before Fulham pulled the plug. He posted 10 goals and seven assists last season.
This comes after Pascal Struijk left in a £20m move to Brighton, with Illan Meslier and last season’s Brighton loanee Facundo Buonanotte also departing. Meslier is now set to join Arsenal as a back-up goalkeeper.
At Leeds, Karl Darlow, Alex Cairns and right back Sam Byram are technically free agents after their deals expired, with talks ongoing and their futures unclear.
In goal, with Darlow out of contract, Lucas Perri is currently the notional number one. Jayden Bogle is first choice at right back, with James Justin a versatile alternative across the defence.
Joe Rodon is an obvious pick in a seemingly preferred 5-3-2, alongside Jaka Bijol, a summer 2025 recruit best suited to the middle of a back three, and Justin.
Gabi Gudmundsson remains first choice on the left and is one of four Leeds players to have featured at the World Cup.
