Leeds United face a delicate January as they try to cement their Premier League place. Notable results include a 3-3 draw with Liverpool and a 4-1 win over Crystal Palace. They sit 16th with a six-point cushion, and Daniel Farke has said there is no sign anyone wants to leave, though sales might be needed to fund business.
Ayase Ueda has emerged as a potential foil for Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who has seven goals in 16 games. According to TalkSPORT, a midtable club may move for the Feyenoord striker in January or the summer, and his 19 goals in 25 suggest a strong fit.
Leeds could even test Robin van Persie's resolve with an offer, and a sizeable fee may be hard for Feyenoord to refuse. Extra firepower feels prudent over a full campaign, rather than relying heavily on Calvert-Lewin alone.
After missing attacking targets in the summer, a short-term loan remains an option. Raheem Sterling is currently outside Enzo Maresca's plans at Chelsea and has not played this season, making an exit extremely likely. His £400,000-a-week wages would demand significant coverage, yet his experience could aid younger wingers such as Wilfried Gnonto.
Illan Meslier has dropped to third choice behind Lucas Perri and Karl Darlow. With his deal running to June 2026, this is viewed as the last window to recoup a fee, and a sale could free wages. Juventus and Inter Milan have reportedly shown interest.
