Fabio Capello insists Inter Milan are steadily improving, showing greater focus and growing stronger as the season progresses.
Interviewed by Sky Sport via FCInterNews, the iconic AC Milan and Juventus coach also questioned Inter’s priorities this term.
It’s a new dawn at San Siro as Cristian Chivu replaced Simone Inzaghi in charge at the beginning of the summer.
However, the ambition is still the same. Inter are keen to win multiple trophies following a heartbreaking 2024/25 campaign.
Despite losing twice in the opening three Serie A rounds, last season’s runners-up are seemingly back on track.
Indeed, back-to-back wins over Sassuolo and Cagliari has seen them maintain a three-point deficit on early pacesetters AC Milan.
Furthermore, Chivu has excelled at the start of his managerial career in the Champions League.
Inter have beaten Ajax and Slavia Prague in their opening two league-phase outings via an aggregate score of 5-0.
Therefore, another direct last-16 qualification remains firmly on the cards.

“Inter is improving, that’s the truth,” Capello stated. “Chivu is trying to do something different.
“It’s not easy to get into the players’ heads and mentally recover them from the block they had.
“Yesterday, the game against Slavia Prague opened with a goalkeeper’s gift, which made everything easier.”
Meanwhile, Capello believes the Nerazzurri are prioritizing European glory over another Scudetto.
Interestingly, similar assumptions haunted Simone Inzaghi toward the end of his regime last season.
“However, in general, the team remains more focused on the Champions League compared to the league.
“Indeed, there’s more relaxation and underestimated moments.”
Based on Inter’s performances this season, Capello’s words are not far from the truth.
Indeed, the 20-time Italian champions have been flawless in the Champions League, where they’ve yet to concede.
On the other hand, they’ve been vulnerable in Serie A, suffering two defeats in the opening five rounds.
