Inter Milan fell short of their 21st Scudetto last season, finishing second to Napoli after a brutal battle for supremacy.

Indeed, Antonio Conte’s side beat the Nerazzurri to the punch by the skin of their teeth on their way to winning their fourth Scudetto.

However, defending the Serie A crown has been easier said than done in recent years.

None of the last five reigning champions have managed to retain the title, highlighting the size of the task ahead of Napoli.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan are back on track after an underwhelming start under Cristian Chivu.

After losing twice in the opening three league matches, they’ve won three games in a row.

Most recently, Inter demolished newly promoted Cremonese 4-1 at San Siro.

Inter headed into the international break only three points adrift of Napoli and Roma.

However, the Nerazzurri will have a chance to overtake the latter in the standings immediately after the break.

Indeed, Chivu’s charges will take on the Giallorossi at the Stadio Olimpico when Serie A returns to action next week.

In the meantime, AC Milan have been outstanding since shockingly losing to Cremonese on matchday one.

Massimiliano Allegri has re-established the Rossoneri as potential Scudetto contenders.

“I like Milan because they have great spirit and remarkable organization,” Ambrosini claimed. “With this spirit and without injuries to key players, they can fight until the end.

“However, Inter has regained strong momentum and is playing the way the team is capable of.

“The Nerazzurri are strong, and Napoli has also improved thanks to the transfer market.”
