The past couple of weeks have brought the spotlight back on Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr., but not all because of positive reasons.
The 25-year-old winger dominated the headlines last week after his public outburst directed at manager Xabi Alonso over his substitution in the Clasico win against Barcelona.
The Brazilian international has again been in the news after a timid display against Liverpool on Tuesday, where he was outshone by 22-year-old right-back Conor Bradley.
Amidst all this, former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has cast doubt on Vinicius’ future at Real Madrid.
The Brazilian international has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia in the past. Moreover, talks over a renewal have stalled for a while now, and his contract stands to expire in 2027.

Speaking on beIN Sports (h/t MARCA) prior to the Liverpool vs Real Madrid game, Wenger said:
“Real Madrid has a question mark over Vinicius. I’m convinced that after what happened in the last game, when he was substituted, has not been accepted well in Madrid.”
Continuing, Wenger added: “Real Madrid has always had one desire: to show that the club is bigger than any player. So, I am not completely convinced that Vinicius’ future lies with Real Madrid.”
Real Madrid have always been keen on renewing Vinicius’ contract and continue to see him as an important player for the present and the future.
However, there may be a possibility that the stance changes in the coming months, especially if there is no progress in contract talks and his form fails to improve.
