Real Madrid registered their first Clasico win over Barcelona in over a year yesterday and were superior to the Catalans in every respect.
Not only did they create better chances but they pressed at the right moments with intensity, were stable in defence and ensured Barcelona got nothing out of their possession on the night.
Every time Real Madrid got the ball, they broke forward in numbers and created threatening chances and were unlucky to have only two goals to their name by the full-time whistle.
The battle between Real Madrid’s attack and Barcelona’s defence, in fact, was clearly visible as the Catalans had no answers to the ruthless attack.
Eventually, it was Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham who got the goals and three points for Real Madrid in what can only be seen as completely deserved.
Legendary Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger opened up on his thoughts on the game and how both Barcelona and Real Madrid performed.

His words, if anything, were massively reassuring for Xabi Alonso’s side and only sounded praises in Los Blancos’ favour.
“El Clasico was a bit like a duel of men against boys. Real Madrid’s defence was much stronger than Barcelona’s,” he began, claiming Real Madrid were far superior.
Elaborating on how Real Madrid were better than the Catalans even in attack, the former Arsenal manager said,
“In attack, Madrid always seemed capable of scoring, while Barcelona seemed ineffective. They had a lot of the ball, but they never seemed really capable of scoring.”
Finally, he was asked to explain what he thought of Xabi Alonso’s management and project at the club so far, to which he said,
“I give him credit, he balanced his team well,” he noted.
