LeicesterMercury.co.uk understands that Leicester City have agreed a £12.5m deal with Manchester City for 16-year-old Jeremy Monga, which includes a sell-on clause.
Manchester City are believed to have seen off Premier League champions Arsenal and Manchester United for the teenager. Arsenal had been leading the race until City, managed by former Foxes boss Enzo Maresca, entered late.
The Gunners are said to have concluded that Leicester’s valuation was too high.
Monga, who turns 17 this month, signed a one-year scholarship that is due to convert into a professional contract on 10 July.
He has made 37 appearances for the Foxes and is the third-youngest to feature in a Premier League match, behind Arsenal pair Max Dowman and Ethan Nwaneri.
