Leicester City supporters want a clear-out this summer, with 17 departures backed after a second successive relegation to League One.
According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, a readers’ keep or sell poll saw only 14 of the 31-player squad top 50 per cent in favour, with academy prospects leading.
Fans hope Louis Page, Bade Aluko and Jeremy Monga form a homegrown core, with Will Alves, Sammy Braybrooke and Jake Evans returning from loans. Page and Alves led the poll on 95 per cent.
Among seniors, academy graduates Jakub Stolarczyk, Luke Thomas, Hamza Choudhury and Ben Nelson were backed to stay, though Nelson is likely to be a target for better-placed clubs. Harry Souttar’s strong final two games, and his lack of association with the past two relegations, also counted in his favour.
Oliver Skipp divided opinion less than most. The £20m midfielder has underwhelmed but was not among the worst this season, and 55 per cent opted to keep him.
Of those fans want gone, verdicts were stark. Michael Golding, a £5m signing from Chelsea with one senior appearance, drew 45 per cent to keep, but 15 players were under 20 per cent.
Only 12 per cent wanted Abdul Fatawu or Stephy Mavididi retained, and Harry Winks’ post-Portsmouth row left just seven per cent backing him. Jordan Ayew and Patson Daka will leave when their contracts end, and no respondents wanted new deals offered.
