Leicester City handed Harry Souttar boost as Wrexham ‘agree’ £2m Joe Worrall deal | OneFootball

Leicester City’s hopes of keeping Harry Souttar have been boosted as Wrexham turned to Joe Worrall, with the window closing at 11pm tomorrow.

Sky Sports reports that the Red Dragons have agreed a £2m deal to sign the 29-year-old from Burnley, and he is due for a medical in Wales today.

Souttar, 27, had been linked with an exit after relegation. Sheffield United led the chase, saw bids rejected and, despite Chris Wilder admitting he wanted him back at Bramall Lane, they have stepped away.

“He’s got a fantastic attitude and wants to play. We’ve had no official bid,” Leicester boss Russell Martin said, telling LeicestershireLive.

“So again, it’s all this talk and stuff like that, which can be really distracting. But Harry’s been brilliant and he’s not been in once to say, ‘I want to leave’, and all that.”

“He’s really relaxed about things and I think he’s going to improve along with the team. He’s not been back in for very long. He’s doing something very different for him and he’ll continue to improve and grow with us.”

Wrexham operate with three centre-backs and, with Conor Coady reportedly set to leave on a free and Dan Scarr joining Salford City, Worrall would join Callum Doyle, Max Cleworth, Zak Vyner and Dominic Hyam among their options.
