Leicester City have left two spaces for free-agent signings after submitting their updated 25-man squad to the EFL.

According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, only 23 of the 25 slots are filled despite four deadline-day arrivals, with Jamaal Lascelles, Joe Aribo, Divine Mukasa and Dujuan Richards registered.

Mukasa and Richards are under 21 but cannot go on the Under-21 list because they are on loan. Departures Julian Carranza, Wout Faes, Boubakary Soumare and Brandon Cover dropped out of the squad.

If City move in the free-agent market, a striker would likely be the priority, especially with Richards brought in as a winger. They had explored Michail Antonio in December and early January, but a muscle injury sustained while training at Seagrave ended that possibility.

Divock Origi is a notable addition to the free-agent pool after his contract at AC Milan was cancelled. The Belgian has not played a competitive match since April 2024 during a loan at Nottingham Forest, and his last goal came more than three years ago, in January 2023.

City’s squad is already large, with 31 players considered first team even though only 23 are registered. Abdul Fatawu and Ben Nelson do not need registering as they are eligible for the unlimited Under-21 list.
