Leicester City are considering a summer move for Wrexham goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, according to Patreon. A deal could hinge on changes to Wrexham’s No.1 role.
The report says the Foxes would look at a permanent deal, while also being open to a season-long loan for the Nigeria international.
Whether they act may rest on Wrexham recruiting a new first-choice. Phil Parkinson is said to want Sunderland keeper Anthony Patterson, with Millwall competing as they want him back for a second loan after his spell in the capital in the second half of last season.
The report adds Wrexham are trying harder than their Championship rivals for Patterson and hope to agree a loan soon. That scenario could influence whether Okonkwo is allowed out temporarily or sold.
Leicester face a pivotal window after successive relegations, with Russell Martin tasked with rebuilding for a push to escape League One.
Jakub Stolarczyk made 38 appearances as last season’s No.1 in the Championship, his shot-stopping drew criticism during a lengthy run without a clean sheet.
Okonkwo came through Arsenal’s academy without a senior appearance, had loans at Crewe Alexandra, Sturm Graz and Wrexham, then joined Wrexham permanently in 2024.
