Leicester City have signed goalkeeper Franco Ravizzoli on a free transfer from Blackpool, their seventh summer addition under Russell Martin.

According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, Ravizzoli has agreed a three-year contract after Fran Vieites departed by mutual consent. Vieites joined last summer and made no competitive appearances.

Ravizzoli previously worked with Martin at MK Dons, arriving in 2021 after training with the first team late in the 2020/21 season. He played nine times for the Dons, 52 for Wycombe Wanderers, then eight for Blackpool following his move a year ago.

Over the weekend, Tangerines boss Ian Evatt hinted a deal was close when he was left out against Grimsby Town. The Argentine now joins Alex McCarthy and Jakub Stolarczyk as Leicester’s three senior goalkeepers.

Ravizzoli said he was delighted to sign and could not turn down the opportunity, calling Leicester a big club with ambitions to be successful again. He vowed to give everything, said he has heard positive things about the club, city and fans, and believes it is the right place to keep improving. He added that he is ready to work hard to challenge for a place and is eager to get started.
