Leicester City have signed Joe Aribo on loan from Southampton, the first of an expected three deadline-day additions.

According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, the midfielder arrives to bolster a unit hit by injuries, with Jordan James and Aaron Ramsey sidelined until March and Hamza Choudhury due a scan on a potentially serious knee injury this week.

Out of favour at Southampton after just seven appearances this season, Aribo is out of contract in the summer, and if he impresses Leicester could sign him on a free.

He is expected to challenge Louis Page for the number eight role while James is absent, though his all-round profile means he could feature in any of the three central midfield positions.

Aribo came through non-league with Staines Town before moving to Charlton Athletic, then enjoyed his best spell at Rangers, helping win the Scottish Premiership and reach the Europa League final.
