Leicester City could be facing a potential points deduction, and FLW's Leicester fan pundit has given their verdict on the situation

Leicester City could be facing a points deduction in the near future, and having not exactly come out of the blocks firing on all cylinders at the beginning of this season, a promotion push this campaign grows increasingly difficult for the Foxes.
Last season, Leicester suffered relegation from the Premier League, having dropped to the Championship for the second time in three years.
Neither Steve Cooper nor Ruud van Nistelrooy could keep the Foxes afloat, despite winning an appeal to avoid a points deduction last season.
Despite having won the appeal last season to avoid a points deduction, they are not out of the water just yet, having breached profit and sustainability rules back in the 2023/24 campaign. It's said they could be 'looking at nine points or more being chalked off their tally in the weeks to come'.
Indeed, Leicester underwent something of a fire sale this summer, seeing the likes of Wilfried Ndidi, Mads Hermansen, Kasey McAteer, James Justin, Conor Coady, Bilal El Khannouss, Danny Ward, Woyo Coulibaly and Jamie Vary all leave the club in the last window.
This, whilst having not spent a single penny on transfer fees this summer, means that Leicester are in a considerably weaker position than the last time they were in the Championship, whilst Enzo Maresca was at the helm.
Speaking to Football League World, Leicester fan pundit Louchlainn has provided his opinion on his club's potential points deduction.
Louchlainn said: "I think the worrying thing now for Leicester fans is the points deduction. We haven't started the season incredibly, and there's a lot of room for improvement. And I think we've had a fairly average start to the season; it's not been terrible.
"The worry is that when a points deduction comes, that could just completely destabilise us on the pitch mentally, and obviously league position as well.
"Let's say you take off ten points now, we're very close to the bottom, if not bottom, I'll have to check that.
"It would be a disaster on that front, and you kind of just worry more, will that affect the players mentally in a negative way?
"Will some of them have their heads dropped or turned in January, because of that? We will have to see.
"Hopefully, we win enough points by the end of the season to finish in the play-offs."
Despite potentially facing a points deduction, Leicester will still hold real ambitions of earning an immediate return to the top flight.
Under new boss Cifuentes, the Foxes have started the season in steady form, winning three, drawing four and losing one of their opening eight league matches so far.
Concerns will be raised, however, with each of those draws coming in their last four games, meaning they haven't won a Championship game in over a month.
Leicester still possesses a real threat at the top end of the pitch, with the likes of Abdul Fatawu, Stephy Mavididi, Jeremy Monga, Jordan Ayew, Patson Daka, Julian Carranza and Bobby De Cordova-Reid in their ranks.
This gives them comfortably one of the best attacks in the league, and as long as Cifuentes can coach an attack, they shouldn't have to worry too much about goals despite some red flags in that department.
However, with four draws in their last four outings, Cifuentes will not be too far away from impending pressure if he is unable to start picking up sufficient points sooner rather than later.
Whether Leicester will be hit with a point deduction, when that may be, and how many points will be taken from them, remains to be seen, but all they can do for now is focus on what is in front of them.
