Leicester City have three players at this summer’s World Cup in North America, plus former Foxes to follow. According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, Harry Souttar, Abdul Fatawu and Jordan Ayew are the current representatives.

Souttar returns to Australia’s squad after injury. Fatawu and Ayew are in Ghana’s squad, with Ayew set to become a free agent during the tournament.

Youri Tielemans goes with Belgium after lifting the Europa League with Aston Villa. Belgium are in Group G with Egypt, Iran and New Zealand.

Harry Kane, who hit two in 15 Leicester games on loan, has 78 in 112 for England. Group L includes Croatia, Fatawu’s Ghana and Panama.

N’Golo Kante missed 2022 through injury but has been recalled for France. He is expected to start their opener against Senegal on 16 June.

Caglar Soyuncu left in 2023, joined Atletico Madrid then moved to Fenerbahce, later signing a three-year deal. Group D features USA, Paraguay and Souttar’s Australia.

Bilal El Khannouss has joined Stuttgart permanently after a loan, understood to be effective 1 July. The 22-year-old has 35 caps and is in Group C with Brazil, Scotland and Haiti.

Riyad Mahrez, 35, says this will be his final tournament for Algeria. He has 113 caps and 38 goals, they beat the Netherlands in Rotterdam and face Argentina, Jordan and Austria in Group J.

Chris Wood has 45 in 89 for New Zealand and scored nine in qualifying. Ranked 85th, they lost 4-0 to Haiti and will face Iran, Egypt and Belgium.
