The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.

Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

The teams are in the tunnel and kick-off will commence shortly in the East Midlands. After winning nine of their 12 Premier League games against the Magpies between May 2015 and December 2021 (L3), Leicester City are now winless in four against today’s opponents (D1 L3).

Meanwhile, Eddie Howe has also named an unchanged side for today's game. The Toon Army will be pleased to see Alexander Isak start for the visitors after fears that he may miss out due to a groin injury. There were also pre-match doubts over the fitness of Kieran Trippier and Joelinton, however both players are available to start at the King Power Stadium. Sweden international Isak has scored eight goals in his last six Premier League appearances against sides starting the day in the relegation zone, including five in his last two (hat-trick vs Ipswich in December 2024, brace vs Southampton in January 2025).

Meanwhile, the visitors are coming into this game on a three-game winning streak in all competitions. Having defeated Liverpool 2-1 in the Carabao Cup final, Newcastle United continued their strong momentum with a 2-1 home win against Brentford last week. Goals from Alexander Isak and Sandro Tonali ensured the Magpies remain in contention to finish in one of the Champions League places. Victory against 19th placed Leicester City will see the Toon Army rise to fifth place in the Premier League table, having played one game less.
