Leicester City’s new commercial director Russell Jones has issued his first message to fans and partners as the club readies for the 2026/27 season.

Jones said in a post that last season’s relegation hurt everyone connected with the club, though pre-season has underlined resilience, pride and togetherness. He thanked supporters and staff for their positivity.

He highlighted a sell-out of season tickets. The launch of two new adidas kits in the city exceeded expectations and beat sales targets, and he thanked principal partners BC Game, Chang and adidas for their continued backing.

Leicester start this weekend, hosting League Two Northampton Town in the Carabao Cup at the King Power Stadium. Their league campaign begins next week at Notts County, the club’s first League One fixture since 2009. Russell Martin’s side have added six new players with just over four weeks of the window remaining.

Jones arrived earlier this year as part of an evolved senior leadership structure. He previously worked in marketing and commercial roles with Wolves and owners Fosun Group, and served Aston Villa between 2003 and 2015. He set out a focus on deeper ties with local businesses and communities and invited ambitious firms to explore remaining commercial opportunities with the club.
