Leicester are reportedly eyeing a January move for Fiorentina’s Riccardo Sottil and sent scouts to watch the goalscorer over the weekend.
Sottil has burst on to the scene this season, playing eight times in all competitions for the Viola as well as representing Italy at under-21 level.
Scouts from the Foxes were there on Saturday to see the 20-year-old score in the Azzurri’s 3-0 win over Iceland.
And according to Fox Sports, that performance was enough for the east Midlands outfit to try and make their move this winter.
Leicester are on the hunt for a long-term replacement for Jamie Vardy and see Sottil as the ideal back-up as they chase an unlikely Champions League place.
It’s unclear as to how much Fiorentina value the youngster but initial reports suggest an offer of around €18m could be enough to see the forward join the Premier League side.
