Leicester sign Chelsea striker on loan late in window but deal not yet official

Leicester City have signed Chelsea striker Dujuan Richards on loan until the end of the season, but it’s yet to be made official.

This was a deal that came from nowhere really and I think most Chelsea fans had even forgotten that Richards exists! We hear very little about him. But now, he has seemingly made a move to Championship side Leicester City, although there has still not been any official announcements on it from either side at the time of writing this article at least. I’m sure an official announcement will arrive soon.

EXCLUSIVE! Former Chelsea player lined up for reunion with Blues legend in the summer!

Both Fabrizio Romano and Sky Sports have confirmed that Richards is joining Chelsea, and all that is missing is the announcement.

Richards to Leicester

Dylan Williams and Dujuan Richards train with the Chelsea first team.

Romano posted on X:

‘After Mukasa, Leicester City will also announce the signing of Dujuan Richards on loan from Chelsea. All sealed.’

As well as that, as cited on X, Sky Sports say:

‘Leicester are still expecting to confirm Dujuan Richards‘ loan move from Chelsea, but confirmation isn’t expected to come tonight. There are no issues. A backlog with all the late deals with the EFL means announcements may be delayed.’

But having checked the Leicester X account, there is yet to be any announcement made by them at this moment in time. I’m sure it will happen.

Axel Disasi’s loan move from Chelsea to West Ham was finally confirmed officially late last night by both Chelsea and West Ham, with the defender heading to The Blues London rivals on loan until the end of the season.

Mamadou Sarr’s return from Strasbourg to Chelsea was also confirmed, with The Blues deciding to trigger a clause to recall him from loan to come back to the club. It looks like Sarr will play an important role now at Chelsea for the rest of this season and beyond.
