Amid a flurry of new signings, Manchester City have today announced the signing of Leila Ouahabi. The 29-year-old left-back joins the Blues on a two-year deal.
The Spanish international joins the Sky Blues from Barcelona where she has spent the past 6 years since rejoining the Spanish giants from Valencia.
Spending almost 10 years with Barcelona before making the move to Valencia, Manchester City will no doubt be hoping their new signing can bring some of the Spanish champion’s winning mentality. With Gareth Taylor’s side pushing for silverware in 4 competitions this season, the signing of seasoned internationals such as Leila could prove crucial in providing some much-needed squad depth.
Speaking on her move to Manchester, Leila Ouahabi said “Manchester City have always been a team that caught my eye. I like their style of football so much and the DNA of the Club is very exciting”.
Her new manager Gareth Taylor was quick to praise his new signing “Leila Ouahabi is a player who we have admired for a long time given her standing in the game and to finally have secured her signature is incredibly exciting“.
