Leipzig sealed fourth spot with a draw away at relegated Arminia Bielefeld, with Willi Orbán’s stoppage time equaliser cancelling out Janni Luca Serra’s opener.

Domenico Tedesco’s side will join Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen in next season’s Champions League.

Union Berlin survived a second half scare to beat Bochum and finish fifth – their highest ever Bundesliga finish.

That means Urs Fischer’s men will be playing Europa League football next season, along with Freiburg, who finished sixth after a final day defeat at Leverkusen.

Köln finished seventh and will enter the Europa Conference League.

Stuttgart have successfully avoided relegation after a dramatic 92nd-minute winner from Wataru Endo saw them overcome Köln and lift the roof off the Mercedes-Benz Arena.

That result means Hertha BSC will face a relegation play-off after losing away at Dortmund. Ishak Belfodil gave Felix Magath’s side the lead with a first half penalty, but Erling Haaland equalised from the spot on his final BVB appearance before substitute Youssoufa Moukoko netted the winner.

Their opponent will be confirmed when the 2. Bundesliga season concludes on Sunday.

Gladbach came from behind to comfortably beat Hoffenheim and seal a 10th-place finish.

Mainz finished eighth and Frankfurt finished 11th after an entertaining final day draw.

And Augsburg finished 14th after a win over bottom club Fürth.
