RB Leipzig must generate more than €100 million from player transfers again, regardless of Champions League qualification, according to Sky Germany.

The report describes this as a clear directive from Red Bull. If they qualify for the Champions League, one top-tier sale plus smaller deals would be enough.

Should they miss out, two top-tier departures are anticipated, which the report says could easily be Yan Diomande and Castello Lukeba, together valued at around €170 million.

More than €40 million may be paid for Loïs Openda via an obligation to buy for Juventus if they finish at least 10th in Serie A, and this is not included in the calculation.

With Juventus currently in sixth place, that obligation is viewed as very realistic, so Openda is counted under last summer’s figures. Other loans, including Eljif Elmas, Arthur Vermeeren and Lutsharel Geertruida, are considered part of this summer’s numbers because they carry purchase options only.
