Sport Bild reports Leipzig are prepared to reject a second Liverpool offer for Yan Diomande, even if the package reaches €120m including add-ons.
Leipzig have already turned down €80m plus up to €20m in add-ons. Liverpool are ready to return with €100m plus €20m, but the Bundesliga club would still not accept.
Despite pressure from the 19-year-old Côte d’Ivoire international’s representatives to push for a move this summer, Leipzig’s hierarchy have an internal stance to say no for as long as possible while he remains at the World Cup, potentially boosting his market value.
An alternative being considered is a new contract running to 2030 on significantly improved terms, which would keep Diomande at the club for at least another season.
Leipzig are understood to be ready to stretch their wage structure if required, although any offer would still fall well short of what Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid or Chelsea can provide.
