Leivinha, former Atlético de Madrid winger and 1977 league champion, dies aged 76

Atlético de Madrid have announced the death of their former Brazilian winger João Leiva Campos Filho, known as Leivinha, at the age of 76.
The club said in a statement that its president, chief executive, board members and all employees send their deepest condolences and share the family’s grief.
Born on 11 September 1949 in Novo Horizonte, Brazil, Leivinha joined Atlético in 1975. He debuted on 28 September that year at the Vicente Calderón against Salamanca, scoring a hat-trick.
He represented Atlético for four seasons between 1975 and 1979, making 93 official appearances and scoring 43 goals. He was part of the team that won the league in 1977.
Leivinha is regarded as one of Atlético’s most fondly remembered Brazilian players.
