Lennon Miller should be in our thoughts again, especially if Calmac leaves

This time last year the young and talented Motherwell youngster Lennon Miller was a reported Celtic target, only for the highly regarded midfielder to go and crush any hopes the Celtic supporters had of seeing him in the hoops when he signed for Serie A side Udinese in a £4.5 million plus deal.
Miller who just missed out on a place in the Scotland World Cup squad has impressed at the Italian side, making 26 appearances, and scoring one goal in all competitions in his debut campaign.
In my opinion, he’s a player Celtic should still be interested in, as we look to bolster our midfield, an area which will be ever so weaker come the start of the new Scottish Premiership campaign, due to the impending departures of Arne Engels, and Reo Hatate.

Mika Baur is on the cusp of signing to plug the gap that will be created in the aforementioned players inevitable departures, but we still need a couple of more new faces to bulk up that area, even more so if our skipper Callum McGregor decides to move on.
Callum has been linked with a money spinning move to Saudi Arabia, with both his former bosses, Brendan Rodgers, and Ange Postecoglou said to be interested in luring the serial winning skipper to their respective gulf state clubs.
It would only be natural for Callum to be interested in such a lucrative move at this stage of his career, and if it were to happen, we would need a competent replacement.
Miller might be young and inexperienced, but he’s very much a leader having skippered Motherwell at such a young age, and has added some more vital components and experience to his game in the competitive environment that is Serie A.
The club would most likely have to part with upwards of £10 million for the 19 year old who is contracted to the Italians until 2029, but it would be a worthwhile investment in the long run.
Lennon Miller is a naturally gifted youngster, and he’s also Scottish which would help with the European roster. He should be a name that we should be actively trying to entice to the club, as he’s the ideal Callum McGregor replacement, not just presently, but for the next few years also.
