Our colleagues at Foot Mercato report that Clermont’s 23-year-old Ghanaian central defender Alidu Seidu is the subject of interest interest from fellow Ligue 1 side RC Lens and an unnamed Serie A club.
Seidu, 23, was formed at the Jean-Marc Guillou Academy and arrived in France at Clermont in 2019 after participating in a tournament near Saint-Étienne. Since then, the Ghanaian international has experienced everything and anything with the Auvergne club. From Ligue 2 promotion to stabilising in Ligue 1 to making it to the World Cup in Qatar last winter.
Able to play as a centre-back, but also on the right side, Seidu has increased in prominence in recent months, going so far as to becoming an indisputable starter in the 2022/23 campaign with Clermont Foot 63, who defied expectations this season by finishing 8th in Ligue 1. RC Lens are as a result interested in his profile plus a Serie A club who has indicated a willingness to propose around €12m for the player, who is currently contracted to CF63 until June 2027.
