Whilst RC Lens have yet to appoint a new manager following Will Still’s surprise departure, the club are also looking to mould their squad for next season.
As per a report from Foot Mercato, Lens are interested in Saud Abdulhamid (25), who, until last summer, had spent the entirety of his career in his native Saudi Arabia. He then signed for AS Roma, amid interest from two Ligue 1 clubs: Stade de Reims and Toulouse FC. However, in the Italian capital, Abdulhamid has found gametime limited, making just eight appearances in all competitions. However, he did make history in becoming the first Saudi Arabian player to score in European competition, netting in a UEFA Europa League game against Braga.
Foot Mercato understands that Roma are looking to loan the player this summer. Specifically, they are looking to send the player to Ligue 1. Lens are very interested in welcoming the full-back, as are Toulouse, who maintain their interest from last season. Two other, unnamed, French clubs are also interested.
