Lens manager Pierre Sage on Morgan Guilavogui to Southampton: ‘He’s on his way out’ | OneFootball

RC Lens forward Morgan Guilavogui (26) is edging closer to a move to the English Championship, with Southampton in advanced negotiations for the Guinea international according to RMC Sport.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Wednesday, Lens manager Pierre Sage confirmed that Guilavogui did not take part in training this morning as his transfer nears completion: “He wasn’t with the group because he’s on his way out.”

The move would reunite Guilavogui with Will Still, who took charge at Southampton this summer. The striker joined Lens from Paris FC in 2023 and has registered 7 goals in 47 appearances across all competitions.

Lens’ attacking recruitment plans could now be complicated. The club have been pursuing Lassine Sinayoko (24) of AJ Auxerre, but negotiations remain slow. Should Guilavogui depart and Sinayoko not arrive, the Sang et Or would be left short in attack and forced to recruit two forwards before the window closes.GFFN | George Boxall
