Lens predicted XI v Lille: Jonathan Gradit out

Jonathan Gradit suffered a calf injury during the 3-1 defeat to OGC Nice a fortnight ago and the defender has not sufficiently recovered, meaning that he will be absent from the Derby du Nord against Lille OSC on Friday night.

RC Lens manager Franck Haise revealed that Gradit will return to first-team training next week, however, he will play no part against Les Dogues. With Deiver Machado still absent – although nearing a return – and Abdukodir Khusanov suspended, Haise is not blessed with options in defence. It is expected that Massadio Haïdara will replace Gradit in the starting XI.

The midfield pairing has been a question mark heading into each of Lens’ games this season. L’Équipe understands that it will be Andy Diouf and Neil El-Aynaoui who will get the nod over Salis Abdul Samed and Nampalys Mendy on Friday evening.

Brice Samba; Facundo Medina, Kevin Danso, Massadio Haïdara; Przemyslaw Frankowski, Andy Diouf, Neil El-Aynaoui, Ruben Aguilar; David Pereira Da Costa, Elye Wahi, Florian Sotoca. (L’Éq)
