According to a report by L’Équipe, AS Monaco have made RC Lens’ Neil El Aynaoui (23) their priority this summer to cover for the expected departure of Youssouf Fofana (25).
As reported exclusively by Get French Football News, Monaco will not entertain any offers below their €35 million price tag for Fofana with Manchester United and AC Milan thought to be interested in the French international.
However, while this transfer rumbles on, Monaco hope to secure Fofana’s replacement with the club keen on El Aynaoui for the role, who has reportedly already agreed on personal terms with the Principality.
It had been previously mentioned that Lens were expecting to sell El Aynaoui for around €20 million but have since lowered their price tag on a player who only joined the club last summer for an estimated €600k from AS Nancy. L’Équipe writes that Monaco have offered €13 million (bonuses included) for the midfielder.
