Lens’ Stijn Spierings on verge of joining Brøndby | OneFootball

Stijn Spierings’ (28) unhappy start at RC Lens looks as if it could be nearing a conclusive end with L’Équipe reporting that the midfielder is on the verge of a surprising move to Denmark where he could join Brøndby IF.

Spierings only joined Lens last summer from Toulouse FC but there were immediate reports from Mohamed Toubache-Ter that the midfielder had struggled to integrate into the new side. Spierings made only four appearances for Les Sang et Or before being loaned back to Toulouse in September for the remainder of the season.

It appears that a new era at Lens with long-term manager Franck Haise leaving and being replaced with Will Still has done little to change the situation for the Dutch midfielder and an exit is on the cards. Lens and Brøndby have not yet reached an agreement but negotiations are thought to be progressing well between the two clubs.
