Lens host Nice in Ligue 1 on Sunday at Stade Bollaert-Delelis, with the leaders aiming to consolidate top spot while the visitors look to halt a damaging slide.
Lens are first with 34 points and carry strong momentum. Nice have generally edged recent meetings between the clubs, including a 2-0 win in February, but arrive under pressure to respond.
Form points sharply in opposite directions. Lens have won five league games on the spin, including away victories at Nantes and Angers. Les Aiglons come in on a five-match losing run across league and Europe, which has dragged them towards the lower half.
Selection could matter. Lens list Jonathan Gradit and Jhoanner Chavez as injured. Les Aiglons are without Dante, Youssouf Ndayishimiye, Mohamed Abdelmonem and Moïse Bombito through injury, while Tom Louchet is suspended.
On the pitch, Lens have scored 26 and conceded 13 in 15, defending well and creating through volume crossing and tidy passing at 84.29% accuracy. Wesley Said leads their league tally with six goals, while Florian Thauvin and Odsonne Edouard sit on five apiece. Les Aiglons have 19 scored and 27 conceded. Sofiane Diop is their main threat with six league goals, supported by wide supply from Jonathan Clauss.
Lens could tighten their grip on first place with a win. Les Aiglons, 12th on 17 points, need a result to steady their season and move back towards the top half.
