Manchester United talent Leny Yoro reportedly “regrets” snubbing Real Madrid for a move to Old Trafford.
United have left many surprised by convincing Bryan Mbeumo to join their project despite finishing 15th in the Premier League.
It has been reported that the Brentford star is hell-bent on joining the Red Devils despite interest from Champions League clubs Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle United.
Despite their struggles, United remain one of the most attractive destinations in Europe. Last season, they managed to lure Yoro to the Theatre of Dreams. The Lille prodigy, known as the Kylian Mbappe of defenders, was on the radar of Real, PSG, and Liverpool.
However, a report from Spain suggests, the Frenchman isn’t very pleased with his decision a year on.
According to DefensaCentral, Yoro would have been a starter at Santiago Bernabeu had he picked Los Blancos instead of choosing “the millions from Mancunians.”
The Spanish giants were very keen on signing the youngster from Lille, so much so that once he agreed to join United, they shelved plans to sign another centre-back. The decision led to Real enduring a disastrous season due to a lack of solid defenders.
It is claimed that the 19-year-old feels he has made a “serious mistake” by turning down the chance to join Real.
United’s season was even worse, but Yoro was one of the few players who impressed under Ruben Amorim.
Towards the end of the campaign, the promising centre-back became one of the first names on his team sheet.
As far as his development is concerned, Yoro enjoyed an encouraging season. Recently, his mum insisted the defender always dreamed of playing for United.
Accordingly, it is tough to take any claim concerning Yoro’s feelings seriously from a Real dedicated site.
