Leo Messi has put Argentina in charge against Algeria at the 2026 World Cup in Kansas City, becoming the first player to appear at six tournaments.
Le Progres notes this is live coverage of day six. France beat Senegal 3-1 earlier, while Norway face Iraq in group I. Argentina and Algeria are in group J.

The Inter Miami forward opened the scoring in the 17th minute with a crisp finish. Luca Zidane had no chance and Argentina led 1-0.
Half-time arrived in Kansas City with Algeria unable to trouble Emiliano Martinez after falling behind.
The second half restarted and the Fennecs had 45 minutes to find a response.
Later, an Alexis Mac Allister strike from distance forced Zidane into a parry. Messi pounced to claim his second of the tournament.
