Flamengo will be without centre-back Léo Pereira for Sunday’s 17:30 kick-off against Corinthians in the Campeonato Brasileiro. The defender has muscle discomfort and, as a precaution, Danilo partners Léo Ortiz. Alex Sandro returns to the squad.

According to Globo.com, Léo felt the issue in his groin and the club will monitor him through to Thursday’s Libertadores quarter-final second leg against Independiente Del Valle.

Flamengo’s XI to face Corinthians is Rossi in goal, Varela, Léo Ortiz, Danilo and Ayrton Lucas in defence, Pulgar, Lucas Paquetá and Arrascaeta in midfield, Plata, Samuel Lino and Pedro in attack.

De La Cruz is not in the matchday group, a technical decision by Leonardo Jardim due to the foreign-player limit in Brasileiro matches.

Alex Sandro starts on the bench after overcoming pain in his right calf. The left-back has not played since 29 July, the draw with Internacional.

Flamengo are chasing top spot in the league, sitting on 54 points, two behind Palmeiras on 56. Palmeiras won their round 27 derby against São Paulo on Saturday.
