his left hamstring during training in early November. This injury continues to impact the Jamaican winger’s progress, forcing Gian Piero Gasperini to sit him out in recent weeks.
His subpar physical condition has led him to miss Jamaica’s call-up, thus missing the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The former Aston Villa player’s impact in the capital has been limited so far: just 144 minutes overall, with no goals or assists, and only one successful dribble. His immediate absence after the first training session has inevitably slowed Bailey’s integration into Gasperini’s system.
While awaiting a full recovery, Bailey will follow his national team’s fixtures from Trigoria, over 8,600 kilometers away, continuing a personalized program to regain fitness and consistency.
Roma’s attack, already strained by the absences of Dybala, Dovbyk, and Ferguson, expects his contribution as soon as possible.
According to Il Messaggero, the winger is expected to return to training with his teammates starting next week.
Until then, he will continue to work individually to accelerate his recovery. The shared goal between the player and Gasperini is to secure a call-up for the next away match against Cremona, once the season resumes.
