Leon Bailey: “I’m happy to be back at Villa after difficult period.”

Having returned from his loan spell at Roma and to Aston Villa, Leon Bailey spoke about his feelings on the eve of his return to the pitch in front of his home fans after a difficult spell in Serie A.

The winger has already experienced the Premier League atmosphere again, coming on as a second-half substitute in the 2-0 win against Newcastle at St. James’ Park.

It was a return that, for him, had a special flavour: “I felt like I was back home. I can’t describe the feeling; it’s fantastic to be here after going through a difficult period. I’ve missed this place a lot, really.”

“The fans have been so welcoming: players, staff, everyone. I’m really happy,” Bailey is quoted in today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport.
