Leonardo Jardim believes a sizeable share of Flamengo’s squad could feature at the 2026 World Cup. According to Coluna Do Fla, he first raised Pedro’s prospects with Brazil before broadening the point.

The coach suggested that any Flamengo player who takes on a leading role will have a chance of representing his country, whether Chile, Uruguay, Argentina or Brazil. He added that playing for Flamengo carries a status that keeps players close to a call-up.

For Brazil, three Flamengo players are viewed as virtually guaranteed to make the tournament, Danilo, Alex Sandro and Lucas Paquetá. Pedro and Léo Pereira, meanwhile, remain outsiders still chasing a place.

Uruguay will take Arrascaeta, Varela and De La Cruz. Among other South Americans, Carrascal of Colombia and Plata of Ecuador will also be at the tournament.

Jorginho is another with a chance for Italy, but he is an outside candidate. Although Gennaro Gattuso rates him, the coach has other priorities for the holding role, notably Sandro Tonali and Barella. Chile, with Pulgar, did not qualify.
