Leonardo Jardim hailed Flamengo’s global stature at his unveiling at Ninho do Urubu on Thursday 05, calling the job a major motivation and stressing the club lives on trophies and results. According to Coluna Do Fla, the Portuguese coach said he wants to keep the team winning.
He highlighted the squad’s technical level as the standout, insisting Flamengo’s players are ahead of any other side in areas such as circulation, first touch, passing and decision making.
Last year Jardim faced Flamengo twice in the Brasileirão with Cruzeiro and did not lose. His team won 2-1 in Belo Horizonte, then drew at the Maracanã, holding the side that would finish as champions.
Now working day to day at the club, he has little time to settle on his line-up for the Campeonato Carioca final. He led his first training session on Wednesday 04 and meets Fluminense on Sunday 08 at the Maracanã.
Kick-off is at 18h, Brasília time. The match will be shown by Globo in part of Brazil, plus SporTV, Premiere and GETV on YouTube.
