Flamengo are close to appointing Leonardo Jardim, with the Portuguese coach having accepted the job for this season. He is expected to arrive in Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday at Galeão International Airport around 18:00 Brasília time. He is not due to meet the squad immediately.
GE reports that Jardim is likely to take his first training session on Wednesday. That would give him about four sessions before the Campeonato Carioca final against Fluminense.

He is set to sign a contract running to the end of 2027, a two-year deal. Paperwork is expected to be completed on Wednesday morning.
Flamengo face Fluminense in the state final at the Maracanã on Sunday at 18:00 Brasília time.
The match will be shown on Rede Globo on free-to-air, and on Premiere via pay-per-view.
