Delphine Cascarino, Oriane Jean-François and Élisa De Almeida are not expected to make Laurent Bonadei’s first squad of the season for France’s friendly with Latvia in Laval on 10 October, with all three injured. Cascarino plays for London City Lionesses, Jean-François for Aston Villa and De Almeida for Arsenal.
According to L'Équipe, the head coach will name his list on Thursday from 14:00. The match opens Les Bleues’ campaign after qualification for the 2027 World Cup in Brazil, scheduled from 25 June to 24 July 2027.
Bonadei should also be without Perle Morroni and Laurina Fazer, both with San Diego Wave. He is understood to want to spare them a long trip as only one game is planned.
He could freshen the group again, as with last season’s final camp that brought call-ups for Julie Swierot, Maeline Mendy, Lucie Calba and Justine Rouquet.
One option could be ex-PSG attacker Océane Hurtré, 22, now with Birmingham, promoted this season to the Barclays Women’s Super League. She is in good form after a fine strike in Sunday’s 3-3 draw against Crystal Palace of Pauline Peyraud-Magnin, the France goalkeeper.
