Letícia Monteiro returned for Corinthians on Sunday, coming on in the second half of a 2-1 defeat to São Paulo in the first leg of the Campeonato Brasileiro Feminino final, ending more than a month without playing.

According to Meu Timao, her previous outing was on 12 August, a 4-1 win over Mirassol in the Campeonato Paulista Feminino, when she started and helped the second goal by hitting the bar before Jaqueline scored.

She then went seven matches without being used by coach Emily Lima. Monteiro was on the bench for the next two, against Internacional and Bahia, before dropping out of subsequent squads.

After the Bahia win last Monday, Lima said the midfielder’s absence was an internal issue being managed within the group and chose not to go into details.

In the Majestoso, Monteiro replaced Duda Mineira on 30 minutes of the second half, shortly after a defender’s mistake for São Paulo’s second, and she did not make a notable impact.

She remains available to Lima for the return leg, scheduled for Saturday 3 October at Morumbis at 16:30.
