Manchester United midfielder Casemiro joining Super Lig club this month Galatasaray is unlikely at this stage, with his wages proving to a stumbling block, according to transfer expert and talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook.

However, it cannot be completely ruled out, with the Crook saying ‘let’s see’, suggesting a move could still happen for the Brazilian star.

While the summer transfer window in England closed last Friday, the Turkish transfer window does not close until September 13, which could see Gala and others make a move for Casemiro.

Man United have been talking about selling the 32-year-old, and while he can no longer move to the Saudi Pro League after their window closed, a move to Turkey could be on the cards.

The former Real Madrid star earns the most money – £350,00 per week – at the Old Trafford club, and getting him off their wage bill will do them plenty of good financially.

Casemiro has started in all of their three opening Premier League games of 2024-25, but he was taken off at half-time against Liverpool on Sunday after a stinker.

The veteran midfielder was at fault for the opening two goals in the eventual 3-0 defeat, and this could be the best time for Man United to sell him.

A loan deal where both clubs split his wages could be a solution as he enters the last two years of his current contract, and terminating his deal is unlikely to be an option the Red Devils would consider.

Man United have signed Uruguay international midfielder Manuel Ugarte, and while manager Erik ten Hag is not in a rush to get him playing, 20-year-old Toby Collyer, who had a decent Premier League debut after replacing Casemiro on Sunday is an option the Red Devils can rely on.
