Levante's victory over Deportivo Alavés on Friday was tempered by an injury to Carlos Álvarez. The club said in a statement that the midfielder has sustained a right adductor longus muscle injury and that his return will depend on how the injury evolves.
Before kick-off at the Ciutat de València, Álvarez reached 100 appearances for the club and was presented with a commemorative shirt. More than 17,000 supporters applauded the tribute.
During the match he went to ground and later left the pitch visibly frustrated, unable to finish the game.
He underwent tests on Saturday to determine the extent of the problem. No recovery timeframe has been provided.
Everything points to Luis Castro's side facing several important fixtures without one of their leading players.
