The postponed La Liga match between Levante UD and Villarreal CF has been rearranged for Wednesday 18 February at 20:00.

La Liga confirmed the matchday 16 fixture will take place then, after both clubs agreed the date to allow the return of African players who had been at the Africa Cup.

The original meeting on 14 December in Valencia was suspended following a red alert for heavy rain and storms issued by the Generalitat Valenciana emergency centre.

Levante, the hosts, aim to take three points in their push for safety after a 2-0 defeat at the Bernabéu.

Villarreal want to add points to cement their Champions League position after losing to Betis in Seville.

Under new coach Luis Castro, the Portuguese has overseen four of nine points from his first three games, against Sevilla, Espanyol and Real Madrid.
