Werkself trainer Xabi Alonso spoke on the matter briefly at his Thursday pre-match presser, noting that it remained unknown how long the teenage talent would be out. It can be assumed that Belocian will miss the next three fixtures heading into the November international break.

Given just three starts and six appearances overall this season, Belocian hadn't exactly cracked Xabi's squad just yet. There would have nevertheless been opportunities for the French youth international in the coming games as he did impress in Alejandro Grimaldo's normal role in this year's DFL Supercup.

“We have to wait for the reaction of the surgery and then we will see how quickly he recovers," Xabi said on Thursday, "We decided that this would be the right time for a [surgical] intervention."
